M.R.N. Banquet

Our team has constantly pursued partners in our mission train-ing. Sunset International Bible Institute and Missions Resource Network have been the two biggest contributors to our mis-sions preparation. We used them as a resource to prepare our-selves for the mission field. On Friday April 16th M.R.N. Invited mission minded congregations, individuals, and missionaries from around the brotherhood to a missions banquet. There was around 300 people in attendance. It was really encouraging to see what the brotherhood has been doing to evangelize the world. It was also a joy to see other mis-sion teams that are preparing to enter the field in 2010. There were missions teams headed to Scotland, Ireland, Brazil, Tanza-nia, and of course Mexico.

Good News

One of the difficult things about going to the mission field is leaving behind family members who you love so much. During the month of March my Dad came to visit me. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to spent time with him and then say good-bye before leaving to the mission field. The best part was having the opportunity to study and discover God’s word together. It was a joy to sit around as a family and study and learn the will of God. Before my Dad left I was given an amazing gift from God. After all the studying and discussions on the spiritual well-being of my father, he decided he wanted to be baptized into Christ. (Rom. 6:3; Gal.3:26-27) The last passage we read together was “Col 2:12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead”. After reading that passage he said for me to“ fill up the baptistery! “He told me his clothes were packed and he did not have a change of clothes, but I said that is not an excuse . It was one of the best going away present I could have ever received. Don’t we serve an awesome God!

What a followship

Food, Fun, and Fellowship. It just doesn’t get any better then that! This was an Easter to remember as we spent it with people who are very close to us. In the near future we will be leaving to Mexico, several of the families we have grown so close to while attend-ing Sunset International Bible Institute will also be leaving to ministries in vari-ous places. This was an-other wonderful experience that reminds us what a blessing it is to be in the body of Christ! Amen..

Current Ministry Involvement

Over the past two years our family has been working with a small West Texas congregation in the town of New Home. This mutual partnership really helped us as we attended Sunset International Bible Institute. It has been just as much of a blessing since we have gradu-ated. We have spoken to other Missionaries who have not had the opportunity to be involved in ministry while they are preparing and raising support for the mission field. Even while we have been raising support I have been able to be involved in evangelism, song leading, preaching, teaching, and be involved in any other re-sponsibilities that are needed. My family has gained ministry experience as well. My wife has had opportunities to teach the ladies’ class, and our two oldest daughters have gained experience teach-ing children’s classes. This congregation has been such a warm and loving family to us! God has truly blessed us by giving us the opportunity to serve and worship at the New Home Church of Christ
