Come Before Winter Retreat

There are not enough words to express how grateful I am for your support and prayers for the women’s retreat in Honduras that I was so blessed to be able to attend. The retreat began on Monday the 14th at 3:45pm and ended on Friday the 18th at 10:00 am. 1 hour be-fore our departure time. Our morning worship began at 7:30 in the morning and we ended at 9:45 every night; needless to say I was beat at the end of everyday but I can not think of a better way to spend approximately 12 hours a day than in God’s word with 34 other mis-sionary women from around the world, sharing each other’s joys, struggles and experiences. During our time there we studied Psalms 99-106 with more of an emphasize on 103; which is an amazing Psalm! One amazing story that I do have to share with you is that 1 of the women that attended ( Maribel ) with her sister (who is a missionary in Mexico City) had not yet decided to commit her life to Jesus was also able to come and be with 34 Christian women and see their love and commitment to Jesus and after many cries, shared stories and encouragement decided that she wanted to be baptized into Christ when she re-turned home. The angels were indeed rejoicing!!
My favorite verses of the week were from Psalms 103: 4,12. Who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgres-sions from us. I was over come with emotion as I stood in front of this ocean looking east to west.
God Bless you!!!

Fruit in Cuernavaca, Mexico

Once again we are able to see God blessing our family. This was the most fruitful week we have seen since being here in Mexico. I had three Bible studies with Christians who had questions and doubts about things they were learning in Scripture. On Friday & Saturday I was able to answer some questions about the doubts that Danii (Daniel) Garcia (We had just recently asked everyone to be praying for him) was having about being baptized and becoming a Christian. Sunday I preached in Spanish on being saved by the blood of Jesus and not by our good and bad deeds. By the power of God things went twice as good as I was hoping for. After service Danii was baptized into Christ (Rom.6:2-7). Zack Williams who works with the youth had been studying with Danii over the last few months. God had really worked through Zack and youth to bring Danii to this decision. A women named Margarita who has been studying with a national couple (Julio & Yesenia) told us today she wants to be baptized. She said she still has a few more questions about some things in the Bible before she follows through with this decision. We also spoke with one of the leaders from the national church and they said they also had a baptism today! Again we see God working here in Central Mexico. Please keep praying because it is making a big difference in God’s kingdom!

Thanking God For My Biblical Education

Today I could not stop praising God for the education I received while studying at S.I.B.I. A sister in Christ called me last night saying how she was really disturbed by the things she was reading in the Minor Prophets. She said she could not believe how violent God was treating His own people and other nations. Today we studied the Covenant of Blessing and Cursing (Deut.28:1-52), how God judges nations, the cup of iniquity, the day of the Lord, the book of Joel, and a list of questions she had from the New Testament. Teaching this material in Spanish is such a challenge, but it would have been so much more difficult if I did not have the education S.I.B.I. gave me which allows me to easily find and explain these verses and concepts. I now thank God for the 10 page papers and the sleepless nights. Today I was so excited after this sister left with a better understand of God.
